HSLS MISSION STATEMENT

To inspire curiosity and foster learning about Lee's Summit's past by providing engaging, individual, and unique experiences for the community. We believe history begins today.

The Historical Society of Lee's Summit maintains a museum in the 1939 Post Office in downtown Lee's Summit on West Main Street. The museum originally opened October 4, 1991 in the south end of the historic 1905 train depot. On April 22, 2015 it re-opened in its new home. The museum houses a number of historic artifacts, maps, and photos of early Lee's Summit.
