Mission:

The Greene County Historical Society was established in 1978 and has two major functions: first, to collect and display material, such as household objects, letters and diaries, pictures and textiles that illustrate the history of the area - its settlement, development, and activities in peace and in war; and secondly, to facilitate genealogical research, by visiting in person to use our 115,000+ person database and consult numerous family histories, or by submitting a genealogy information request at our website.
