School Supply Drive in Sioux Falls This Friday!
AARP in Sioux Falls is hosting a school supply drive to support the Sioux Falls Banquet’s Project S.O.S. on Friday, August 2 at Kaladi’s Bistro from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. When anyone makes a donation, they’ll get a free cup of coffee or lemonade on us. Even if you are in a hurry, we’ll have volunteers in the parking lot to take your supplies and hand you a free cup to go!
Many families in our community struggle to ensure their children are equipped with the supplies necessary for a successful education. With your support, backpacks will be filled with everything our students need to succeed. Project S.O.S. (Supply our Students) helps prepare every student for success by compiling more than 6,000 backpacks full of brand-new school supplies each year and giving them to students in need in the Sioux Falls area. Students enrolled at any area school can pick up a free backpack on Saturday, August 17 at Whitter Middle School from 9-4.
AARP in Sioux Falls is proud to be championing positive social change by supporting the hard work and dedication of local nonprofits like Project S.O.S as well as teachers and school professionals statewide.
