Posted on 09/29/17 by Patti Shea, AARP Florida

Jacksonvillians, do you want to celebrate women who are living with or have survived breast cancer in your community? Then sign up for the Pink Ribbon Symposium to also celebrate its 10th anniversary this Saturday, Oct. 7.

“This great event champions the brave survivors of breast cancer and encourages Jacksonville to live healthier every day,” AARP Florida State Director Jeff Johnson said. “We hope residents of all ages participate.”

The Pink Ribbon Symposium was founded in 2008 and is dedicated to educating the Northeast Florida community on recent advances and related topics in the detection, treatment and survivorship of breast cancer patients as well as the understanding of the importance of healthy lifestyle choices.

This year’s guest speaker is Jeannie Blaylock,  an award-winning news anchor and cancer champion.

In addition to the exhibitors and educational seminars, this year you can enjoy live entertainment from the Jacksonville Harmony Chorus & Orange Park High School band, a Man Cave with massages and guy-talk, a Corvette Car Show, our Pretty-in-Pink Pampering Room for manicures and massages, Chair Yoga and Tai Chi, an outdoor vendor Marketplace, a special presentation by AARP, and much, much more!
