Webster County Woodchopping Festival

About the Event

Each Memorial Day weekend, the Southern U.S. World Championship Woodchopper title is won at the annual Webster County Woodchopping Festival in Webster Springs, WV.  The festival has grown out of a long timbering heritage from which has come some of the finest woodchoppers and lumbermen in the world.  The choppers come from as near as the scenic mountains of Webster County and as far away as Australia and New Zealand to compete.

Schedule of Events:
6:30 am - Big Breakfast  at Webster Springs Elementary School
8:00 am - Ginger Fletcher 5K Race (Registration - 6:30am)  at Webster Springs Elementary School
9:00 am - World Champion Woodchopping Begins at Bakers Island
50/50 Tickets on Sale All Day.
10:00 am - Arts and Crafts Open
10:00 am - 11:30 am - Woodchoppers Coffee Hour - MB
11:30 am - Paul Bunyan Grand Feature Parade at Main Street
(Parade Line-up - 9:00am - Hotel Bottom)
1:00 pm - Car and Truck Show
(Registration - 9:00 am)  at Bakers Island
1:00 pm - Lincoln County Cloggers
