Eagle Mushroom and Wild Food Festival

About the Event

The 3-day Festival is filled with mushroom foraging, culinary experiences and nature exploration.  Explore the natural world, and its bounty with notable mycologists and wild food experts; Orion Aon, Larry Evans, Ken Kassenbrock,  John Sir Jesse, Jon Sommer, Brian Barzee and Sebastian Tabibi.

Schedule:

9am - 3pm Guided Foray Select locations in the National Forest

Join us for a day-long exploration into the National Forest lands near Eagle, Colorado. This distinctive experience brings together mushroom enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners on their first foray to seasoned experts. Led by notable mycologists and wild food experts, this adventure promises a day filled with exploration, mushroom hunting tips, and the opportunity to ask questions to foray leaders with decades of experience.

During the foray, everyone will enjoy a catered lunch, and a moment to share experiences with fellow enthusiasts in a mountain setting.  The day concludes back in Eagle, where mycophiles showcase their bounty, engage in discussions on mushroom identification, and explore the intricacies of the fungi realm.

11am - 1pm Cooking Class & Gourmet Lunch Brush Creek Pavilion

Take your cooking to a new level of sophistication with the classically inspired wild food cooking techniques guided by Red Canyon Catering Chef & Owner Brian Farquharson.  After honing your culinary skills, revel in the wild flavors with a the gourmet lunch.

3:30pm-4:30pm Mushroom Identification Brush Creek Pavilion

Immerse yourself in an educational discourse, expanding your knowledge of nature’s bounty, and ensuring a more informed exploration of the fascinating world of fungi.

Esteemed Foray Leaders impart their expertise on wild food and mushrooms at mushroom identification tables.  Learn essential features such as; spores, stalks, caps, and habitats, gain valuable insights for identifying mushrooms and enhancing your foraging experience.

6pm - 10pm Family Dinner Brush Creek Pavilion

Savor the warmth of family-style dining, where nature-inspired dishes by Chef & Owner Marla Leblow of Second Nature Gourmet are shared, and memories are created.  As the last bites are savored, the live music takes center stage, elevating your dining experience to new heights.

6pm-9pm Culinary Dinner Wild Sage

The exquisite dining experience returns to Eagle, promising an evening of unparalleled sophistication. The culinary journey is curated anew, featuring an inspired menu crafted by the culinary virtuoso, Chef Kevin Nelson of Wild Sage.  Guests can once again revel in an atmosphere where culinary artistry meets wild food.
