Drive-Through Shred Event
Did you know that every two seconds someone’s identity is stolen? Protect yourself from frauds and scams by making sure paper documents you no longer need are properly shredded and disposed of!
Join AARP Fraud Watch Network for a FREE drive-through shred event as we work together to combat fraud and identity theft in our community. At our event we will help you dispose of unwanted documents in a FREE, safe, and secure manner. It only takes a few minutes!
All you must do is (1) register in advance and (2) on Tuesday, June 4 arrive to the North Natomas Regional Park parking lot (3) check in with one of our volunteers, pop open your trunk, and we will help you shred your paper documents.
AARP volunteers will also be onsite sharing information on how you can protect yourself and loved ones from frauds and scams.
DRY paper documents only (staples and paperclips are ok). No plastic, wires, hardbound books, binding, binder clips, glass, metals, aluminum, rubber, wires, spiral notebooks, hanging file folders, or pre-shredded documents, etc.
To help expedite the process, please do not have bags tied or boxes taped shut. Please also ensure papers are loose and not in individual bags in boxes or in individual bags inside larger bags.
Containers with wet or moldy papers or with non-paper documents (i.e. plastic, binder clips, metal folder hangers, rubber, rubbish, food wrappers, etc.) will be refused.
Additional information:
· On-site shred trucks will stay on site for the time scheduled or until they reach capacity, whichever comes first.
· This service is only for personal use, and not intended for businesses.
This event is free and AARP membership is not required.
