About the Event
Join AARP Vermont and Audubon Vermont for a spring bird walk around the trails of the Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington, VT! Nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains, the 250-acre Green Mountain Audubon Center offers outstanding opportunities for exploration and birding.
We'll start on the Arboretum Trail, which loops through what was once an old field. Now a healthy young forest, this area hosts a variety of young-forest birds. Then we'll head down to explore our lower property which includes wetlands, forests, stream, and river to increase the diversity of species we are likely to encounter. Many birds migrate at night and settle into the forests below to feed during the morning hours and with the breeding season just around the corner, the forests are certain to be filled with song.
Binoculars will be provided to those that do not have their own. Parking will be at the Education Barn at 255 Sherman Hollow Road, Huntington, VT.
